Vanga Playing Mind Games? Why Such Importance to Tripti?

Prabhas Spirit first look intense poster

The first look poster of Prabhas’ Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was released around midnight as a New Year surprise and quickly became a huge talking point on social media. As expected, the poster carries Vanga’s trademark intensity and dark tone.

It shows Prabhas from behind, shirtless, with visible wounds and bandages. Alcohol bottles, cigarettes, and actress Tripti Dimri lighting a cigarette for him add to the raw mood. Even without dialogue, the poster clearly suggests that her character holds strong importance in the story.

Usually, first look posters of big pan India films focus only on the hero. In Spirit, the decision to give the heroine visible presence in the very first reveal makes it stand out. It hints that the female character is not decorative but plays a crucial role in driving the narrative.

Reactions, however, have been mixed. Some viewers feel Sandeep Reddy Vanga is repeating the same template seen in Arjun Reddy and Animal, just scaled up with a bigger star like Prabhas. Despite this backlash, Prabhas fans are thrilled. They believe the poster alone gives the vibe of a potential Rs. 1000 crore film.

From a practical standpoint, one thing is clear. Spirit is still in the early stages of production. The makers have released the strongest look available at this point. Industry insiders believe that when Prabhas’ full police officer look is revealed, the response will be far bigger. For now, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has made an early impact and set the tone with a powerful visual statement.

As per inside reports, the film was initially expected to release in December this year. However, with The Raja Saab and Fauzi also lined up in 2026, three Prabhas releases in one year looks unrealistic. Trade circles suggest Spirit may shift to Sankranthi or summer 2027.

At present, no release date has been locked. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is focused on completing the shoot first and then taking sufficient time for post-production.
