Rajamouli is one of the directors with 100 percent success rate. For SS Rajamouli, every blockbuster has been a stepping stone, but if one film truly changed his mindset as a filmmaker, it is Magadheera.
Rajamouli revealed this himself in a media interaction. Reflecting on his journey, Rajamouli said that while Jr NTR’s Simhadri elevated him to a higher league in the industry, Ram Charan’s Magadheera gave him something far more valuable confidence.
“Simhadri placed me in a better league, but Magadheera gave me the confidence to accept even bigger projects. It was my first film that took two years to make, and achieving what we set out to do made me believe I could take on even bigger and longer projects.” Said Rajamouli.
That confidence eventually became the foundation for films like Baahubali and RRR, both of which required years of production and redefined the global reach of Indian cinema.
With Varanasi shaping up to be another ambitious venture, Rajamouli once again appears ready to redefine the limits of Indian filmmaking. Currently, Varanasi is right on track around 80 percent of the shoot has reportedly been completed, with only 20 percent left to be filmed. The team has already wrapped up the film’s major action sequences, leaving the remaining portions to be completed in the coming schedule.
