Hollywood has time and again proven to be an unsafe space for women and young girls with sexual predators occupying coveted positions in the industry. Jared Leto, famous for his portrayal of Joker, has come under the target of several women from the industry who have accused him of sexual misconduct.
The case becomes more complex as many of them have said he mistreated them at an age when they were minors. Recently, 9 women including DJ Allie Teliz and model Laura LaRue have taken to social media to expose his behaviour.
He is reported to have assaulted and behaved inappropriately like walking in naked, late night calls, explicit messaging and other heinous acts. Earlier Dylan Sprouse and James Gunn had hinted of his misconduct towards young girls in the industry but now the case has solidified all the more.
His lawyers denied all the allegations and a legal action is yet to be pursued on this front. This exposé has urged people to question the system and power dynamics of the industry that unfairly advantage predatory men.
