Aamir Khan has finally announced his upcoming film, “Sitare Zameen Par,” which shares a similar theme to his iconic 2007 movie “Taare Zameen Par” which touched a lot of hearts.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan revealed that “Sitaare Zameen Par” would continue the theme of celebrating imperfections but with a comedic twist, promising to make audiences laugh and be entertained.
He also revealed that while in “Taare Zameen Par,” Aamir Khan’s character helped a special child named Ishaan, in “Sitaare Zameen Par,” nine boys with their own unique issues will help his character. The film is an official remake of the Spanish sports drama film Campeones and will be directed by Badhaai Ho fame RS Prasanna.
Gone are the days when remake movies used to do well. In the post-pandemic world, remake movies are not working and are falling like a pack of cards. Bollywood has seen multiple failures like Jersey, Shehzada, Bholaa, Selfiee, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Tadap, HIT, Dobaara, and Vikram Vedha which were remakes.
Aamir Khan’s own film Laal Singh Chaddha was a remake of Forrest Gump and was completely rejected. Still, Aamir, who is considered to be a trendsetter and perfectionist, is attempting one more remake in these times when people are exposed to all kinds of world cinema at their fingertips.
Shah Rukh Khan revived Bollywood single-handedly this year with Pathaan and Jawan but if stars like Aamir Khan continue wasting their time in remakes, then Bollywood once again will go down and South Cinema will trounce it.
