Commercially, Suriya’s recent release ‘Soorarai Pottru‘ came as a huge relief for the star hero’s fans who had been waiting for a proper movie that would both showcase the Star’s talents and also deliver him a blockbuster.
Now, this is like a bonus that Soorarai Pottru’ joins Oscar race in Best Actor, Best Director, Best Original Score and other categories. It’s reported that the movie was available in the screening room today.
It would be a great honour if the movie indeed enters the Oscar race after the preliminary screening process. Most of the times we see small concept-based films that normally go unnoticed entering the Oscar screening category with a few exceptions.
However, the quality of the films submitted for preliminary screening and the guidelines they need to follow for submission will decide the film that would go for the Academy Awards race. Let’s see.
