The issue surrounding ‘Sye Raa‘ doesn’t look good when the legal heirs of Uyyalawada Narsimha Reddy are fighting for the compensation promised to them before completing the movie. A writ petition was filed in the Telangana High Court by the family members/descendants of the freedom fighter.
The writ petition came to the hearing in the court and the director of the movie, Surender Reddy argued that ‘Sye Raa’ isn’t a biopic in the first place. From the beginning, the period drama has been promoted as the story of an unsung hero hailing him ‘Renati Suryudu’.
Now, the makers are totally disclaiming saying that ‘Sye Raa’ isn’t a biopic. This seems very strange and this doesn’t look good at all on the part of the makers of the movie.
There had been issues since the family descendants came to ask what was allegedly promised to them for the information they shared and the resources they allowed the movie’s unit to use.
By the time the writ petition came to the hearing on Wednesday, the film was yet to be certified. Therefore, Telangana High Court posted the next hearing to Monday when the court might decide on the cheating petition for not paying a royalty to the heirs.
Meanwhile, we have the update that the film completed the certification process and the CBFC certified the movie with U/A.
