Hollywood films are once again stealing the spotlight at the Indian box office. Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files are facing tough competition from The Conjuring: Last Rites this week. Fans of the horror franchise are rushing to book tickets in advance.
Himesh Mankad from Pinkvilla shared that as of September 3, 2025, around 80,000 tickets have been sold in national chains such as PVRInox and Cinepolis. PVRInox accounted for 68,500 tickets, while Cinepolis recorded 11,500.
Several cities have even planned special midnight shows on September 4 at 11:59 p.m. Shows scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are also filling up rapidly, showing the craze among audiences.
Trade experts believe The Conjuring: Last Rites could register an opening of Rs. 15 crores on its first day. This figure is higher than the recent releases of Bollywood stars like Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Aamir Khan.
In contrast, ticket sales for Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files are not very promising. Both films now rely heavily on word of mouth to get a push over the weekend. Without strong reviews, they may struggle to perform.
Baaghi 4 has sold about 25,000 tickets so far. While the number is decent, it is nowhere close to the 80,000 achieved by The Conjuring. Industry reports suggest the film might open between Rs. 7-8 crores.
The current trend highlights how Hollywood films continue to dominate over Bollywood and South Indian films. Audiences are choosing them for engaging content, which many recent Indian releases have failed to deliver.
Whether Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files can bounce back or face a complete defeat against The Conjuring remains to be seen. The weekend will decide their box office fate.
