Ravi Teja’s Irumudi locking August 21 has triggered fresh speculation about the release of Nani’s much-awaited pan-India film The Paradise. While neither team has officially commented on the other’s release plans, industry circles increasingly believe Nani’s film is unlikely to arrive on its announced date.
The announcement is significant because August 21 was already locked by Nani for his most-awaited film, The Paradise, with Dasara director Srikanth Odela. Both Nani and the director had repeatedly maintained that the film would arrive on that date, making Irumudi’s move all the more intriguing. So, will there be a Nani vs Ravi Teja clash at the box office? Not likely!
Industry buzz suggests that The Paradise has quietly vacated the slot.
There are practical reasons for that belief. The film was initially planned for a March 2026 release before being pushed to August due to production delays. Although the makers recently announced that more than 100 days of shooting had been completed, reports suggest that significant work still remains.
Even if filming is completed soon, the team still has to finish post-production, sound design, visual effects work, final editing, music, and a large-scale promotional campaign. Given the scale of the project, many feel August 21 is becoming increasingly difficult to meet.
The involvement of music composer Anirudh is another factor. There is still uncertainty surrounding the completion of the film’s album and background score by August 21, both of which are crucial for a project of this scale.
Industry insiders believe Srikanth Odela is unwilling to rush the film. After the success of Dasara, expectations for The Paradise are enormous, and the director is reportedly prioritizing quality over deadlines.
That approach may ultimately benefit the film. The Paradise is widely regarded as Nani’s most ambitious project to date, with the actor reportedly playing a rugged character named Jedalu. The film also stars Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, and Mohan Babu in key roles.
The strong response to the promotional material and the popularity of Aaya Sher have only raised expectations further. That is precisely why the makers may prefer a delay rather than release a product that is not fully ready.
If The Paradise misses August 21, December is emerging as the most likely alternative, though a later release cannot be ruled out.
