Samnatha Akkineni for the first time is starring in historical drama, Shakuntalam. Gunasekhar is wielding the megaphone who made interesting revelations about his ambitious project and startling details on Samantha.
At a time when many films have taken a back seat due to the pandemic, Guneskhar’s Shakuntalam has completed its 50 percent shoot. “In three months, we completed 50 percent shoot and this made many eyebrows raised in the industry as to how we completed in such a scenario,” said Gunasekhar.

Gunasekhar credited his diligent planning for the shoot completion. After Rudhramadevi, for an year, he spent time on Shakuntalam pre-production work where he conceptualized, did story-boarding and then pre-visualization which all helped him in diligent execution.
Gunasekhar further credits Samantha for helping them to complete the shoot in time. “My daughter Neelima made sure to conduct rapid tests and RTPCR tests on daily basis which left Samantha too shocked about the precautionary measures being taken by us. Seeing this Samantha who is my ‘film’s hero’ understood the painstaking efforts taken by us. She also knew that if shoot is halted the huge sets at Annapurna Studios will go in vain,” said Gunasekhar.

The filmmaker continued saying, “Samantha after seeing all our effort only said that she trusted how Neelima is taking care with all the required measures. Samantha supported big-time by giving green signal for the filming process”.
The filmmaker adds that with new lockdown ease, in another three-months he would complete the project and in 10-months he would invest time in post-production and then it would be ready to hit screens.
