In response to the stampede during the Pushpa 2 premiere in Hyderabad, Telangana’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government has announced it will not allow further increases in cinema ticket prices.
The state government had previously allowed an increase in ticket prices for big-budget movies starring top stars, including Pushpa 2: The Rule. This decision was made to help producers recover the high production costs associated with these films.

With upcoming high-budget films like Game Changer, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Raja Saab set to release in the coming months, producers had hoped to increase ticket prices to help recover production costs. However, the government’s decision has caused panic among them.
Despite the concerns, many trade experts believe these films won’t need the same level of ticket hikes as blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD or RRR.

They argue that no films next year will require such hikes, except for potential big-budget releases that will start with NTR and Prashanth Neel’s project.
So, Revanth Reddy’s decision to not increase cinema ticket prices should not significantly hurt the Telugu film industry at least for now.
