This March started off on a decent note with Gaami getting decent box office returns and Malayalam film Premalu posting decent numbers in its own capacity. But the real deal is starting towards the end of the month as Tillu Square is heading for release.
Tollywood box office is ready to deliver that one big hit as there is a vacuum that has been building up since Sankranthi with no post-Sankranthi release managing to set the ticket counters rolling. This lays a perfect platform for Tillu Square to make the most of the situation.
Going by the start Tillu is witnessing for the US premieres, it can be understood that the film is indeed keeping the audience interested. A similar trend could be seen domestically as well once the bookings open, thanks to the sequel advantage.
Though the prospects are bright for Tillu Square, the makers have kept a rather low-key promotional flow for the film. After the trailer launch a couple of weeks ago, there has been no major promotional campaign.
Tillu Square could well be the big hit that Tollywood needs at the moment, considering all the vacuum that has been building up of late. But as always, word of mouth is crucial for consolidated success. If the content is as at least entertaining as the first part, the box office upside is huge. It is known that the film is releasing on March 29th.
