Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR wrapped up its shoot of late and the team is busy with the post-production process. RRR after many postponements was planned for October 13, 2021 release, but the team again watered down movie buffs spirits by pulling out of the slot.
However, unlike Rajamouli who is still in a fix over the RRR release date, many biggies have announced their arrival. From Ajth’s Valimai, now Bollywood has also swung into action as they have announced a beeline of movies that is packed till the second half of 2022.
Bollywood witnessed a sulk in the revenue with theaters closure ever since the pandemic. The Maharashtra government has however now revoked the norm and allowed theaters to be operational from October 22, 2021.
No sooner, the govt. revoked the rule, Bollywood production houses announced their film releases which have long been waiting for this day. We have Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s Sooryavanshi slated for Diwali 2021. Then again Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu for Diwali 2022. Then we have Ranveer Singh starrer 83 locked for Christmas 2021, then Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha arriving in February 2022.
At a time when notable houses were quick to act and book the slot, it is time for Rajamouli to hurry up. RRR being a pan-India film carries good buzz from the beginning and needs an apt slot to make moolah at the ticket window. Not only in the South, but the North market also carries equal weightage for RRR.
Thus Rajamouli needs to buck up before it gets too delayed or RRR will be losing out on good dates.
