There were several objections and agitations against the dubbing movies in Telugu. Lets us not go too much in to the issue. But we shall see in to this particular case of Malligadu.
Malligadu is the dubbed version of Karthi’s Paruthiveeran which released in 2007. Yes, you read it right! The movie was released way back in 2007. The movie is dubbed in to Telugu after 5 long years. While several good movies in Telugu are finding it tough to get proper release, Is it necessary to dub a Tamil movie which released 5 years ago? Its clear that the makers are planning to milk the ‘new found’ craze of Karthi here which will seriously hamper the chances of few small movies here.
There is also a danger of this trend to continue so that the past hit movies of actors like Vikram, Suriya, etc are dubbed and released one after the other. A good movie should be encouraged even if it is dubbed one but the release should not hamper the local chances as cinema making involves too much of commerce these days.
