After OG, Kantara Ch. 1 Starts October with a Bang

Tollywood September 2025 box office hits

September turned out to be a strong month for Tollywood, with four major releases Little Hearts, Mirai, Kishkindhapuri, and OG making a solid mark at the box office. All four films maintained impressive weekend occupancy and brought relief to exhibitors and distributors after a long dry spell.

With OG now available at standard ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh, both repeat viewers and new audiences are returning to theatres. Even on its tenth day, the film continues to perform steadily, a promising sign for its distributors.

At the same time, Kantara: Chapter 1 remains unstoppable. The demand for the film is still high, and with added shows in its second week, distributors expect strong weekend collections. Its consistent performance proves the power of positive word-of-mouth.

Meanwhile, Mirai continues to attract audiences despite its upcoming OTT release, while Little Hearts enjoys steady support from younger moviegoers in limited centres. A senior distributor noted that such consistent occupancy across multiple weeks hasn’t been seen in months, reflecting a revival in Tollywood’s theatrical business.

Overall, the combined success of these films has revived confidence among theatre owners, distributors, and producers, signalling a much-needed recovery for the Telugu film industry.
