Tollywood Weekend Box Office

It has been a while since the Tollywood box office was set on absolute fire. Incidentally, the wait for pretty significant sound at the box continues this week as well.

Of the multiple films that released last weekend, only Return Of The Dragon, featuring Tamil hero Pradeep Ranganathan could generate any sort of revenue at the box office.

This film did reasonably well in the multiplex and held decent ground in the single screens as well. It ultimately turned out to be the number one choice for Telugu audience last three days.

The reported revenues are still not over the moon but they’re better than any other film that released last weekend.

Pradeep has certainly made it a priority to cater to the Telugu audience as good was taken of the dubbing and that is paying dividends with the support reciprocated by the Telugu audience.

Telugu films Bapu and Ramam Raghavam that released last weekend were complete washouts at the box office and in this vacuum, it is Dragon which sustained at the ticket counters.

Pradeep appears to be on a mission of enhancing his Telugu market, and he certainly appears to be on the right track with such youthful films. He has good time ahead of him if he continues with this consistency.

Now, the wait continues for Tollywood to have this one breakthrough film that would go bonkers at the box office. We have Sundeep Kishan’s Mazaka arriving on 26 Feb and it is followed by Kiran Abbavaram’s Dilruba which is arriving on March 14.
