The box office number has been the deciding factor for every film. This has not changed at all, and the figures have kept on increasing with time. The situation is different now, with every filmmaker trying to cross a particular mark.
Records have also been broken in a level where only one or two films have managed to take the same spot every year. While many people believe that Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has been the only title to have been the only blockbuster, there are many other titles in this list with the same achievements.
Let’s go ahead and check the projects that attracted huge crowds to the big screen.
1) Dangal (2016)
Aamir Khan was enjoying the golden phase at one point. People did not care much about the content, and they simply purchased the tickets to watch the film. Biopics are being rejected today. But the inspiring story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his family impressed everyone. It contributed to a collection of Rs. 2100 crores.
2) Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

The Icon Star’s presence is sufficient. After Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the superstar entered a new zone. He was cutting trees in the jungle. Everything was authentic. The premise was simple. A daily wage laborer decided to become powerful. There was also a hot and glamorous item number. The entire package contributed to a strong run of Rs. 360 crores.
7) RRR (2022)

9) Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)

The grand scale was visible from the trailer. Double digits kept on coming, even on the weekdays. The theatrical run eventually ended with a collection of Rs. 1800 crores.
10) Kantara: Chapter 1 (2025)
With a lack of big blockbusters throughout the year, Rishab Shetty decided to change things. A huge fan base was built after the success of the first entry. The concept was close to the heart of the Kannada audiences. Even the North Indians started developing a connection. The recovery also became easy with a high budget, and the figures have already reached Rs. 800 crores.
Audience preferences have changed. In this situation, the biggest titles have failed to make it to the list, despite crossing Rs. 300 crores. The reason has been the big budget and the failure to recover it. Big superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are bringing their films in the next few years. Let’s wait and see which one of them will be included in the list of highest-grossing films.
