Toxic - yash-cannot compared with-prabhas

Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic, has sparked comparisons to Prabhas post-Baahubali. Despite both achieving Pan-India stardom, the muted buzz around Toxic, now set to release in 2026, raises questions about Yash’s ability to sustain his appeal after KGF Chapter 2.

Prabhas followed Baahubali with Saaho just two years later, securing a ₹20 crore opening in the Hindi belt. In contrast, Yash’s Toxic comes four years after KGF 2, with minimal promotions so far, causing low anticipation in North India.

While Saaho was marketed as a mass entertainer with big-budget appeal, Toxic, directed by arthouse filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, has a niche tone. Its teaser highlighted Yash’s gangster avatar but lacked the grandeur that defined KGF.

Prabhas delivered what fans expected after Baahubali, ensuring his stardom. Yash’s experimental Toxic risks alienating Hindi audiences accustomed to his larger-than-life action films. A four-year gap and subdued marketing also weaken the hype.

Yash and Prabhas have taken different paths post-success. While Yash’s choice reflects versatility, Toxic’s success hinges on how it balances unique storytelling with mass appeal. With its release in 2026, stronger marketing will be crucial to reigniting excitement.
