Megastar Chiranjeevi faced an epic disaster with Bholaa Shankar. This added to the existing commotion from fans, asking him to stop doing these shabby remakes.
Incidentally, Chiru then announced the film with Bimbisara fame Vasishta, and this film is set to commence shooting next month.
The timeline for this film is such that it will start the shooting in November and wrap the filming by April next and then go for an elongated 6-month post production. The film will head for release only during 2025 Sankranthi.
Meaning, Chiru will have no release between August 2023(Bholaa) and Sankranthi 2025. This is close to a one and half year break, which is unexpected from Chiru, given that he had been setting up random projects at the rate of knots.
This is a welcome break for Chiru who has reached the fag end of his career. Instead of films like Bholaa, Chiru can rather spend this time at materializing good films that cater to fans and commoners alike.
At a time when his contemporaries – Rajini and Kamal Haasan are playing their age and doing relevant films, it is upon Chiru to reassess his options and this break will give him to contemplate.
Whatever he does now has to be calculative as it is upon himself to close out his glorious career on the right note and films like Bholaa simply don’t cut it.
