Film making and its distribution is a gamble, we never know what works but it surely is not a science that can’t be understood. Over the years if we follow the trend in movies seriously we can see what is working and what’s not.

When the movie lovers can pick up a trend one fails to understand how a buyer investing huge amounts can’t do that same. It is for sure baffling. Had the buyers been cued they would understand from the word go that out and out routine commercial mass movies aren’t working in US. One would be hard pressed to think of two such films which have earned profits in this market.
In the past many years except one film Gabbar Singh all such routine commercial fares has had disastrous fate at box office. Even Gabbar Singh too was hardly a blockbuster deal yet Sardaar Gabbar Singh had been bought for such huge price. No wonder it turned out to be first Million dollar loss venture movie in US. Sarrainodu too is going to end up as huge loss venture.
On the other hand we have films like Nannaku Prematho and Oopiri working big. The signs are clear as to what is doing well in this all important territory and still the buyers fumble. Is this because of carelessness or could it be the cluelessness of the new distributors on the horizon. Whatever it is time is up for all of them pull socks and be extremely careful or they all are going to be extinct sooner or later.
