No More Guessing? Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi Set

Rajamouli Mahesh Babu Varanasi update

Cinema Fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for the ambitious project that brings together director SS Rajamouli and superstar Mahesh Babu, titled Varanasi. Touted as the biggest budget film ever made in Indian cinema, the action adventure has been generating constant buzz, especially because of its globe-trotting storyline and massive visual scale.

Rajamouli’s films are known for long production timelines, which often leads to uncertainty around release dates. Past projects like Baahubali and RRR saw multiple schedule changes, so fans naturally had doubts this time as well. However, the team behind Varanasi seems determined to avoid confusion by offering clear and timely updates.

Recently, the film’s official X handle firmly confirmed that Varanasi will release in 2027. This clarification reassured fans who were worried about possible delays. The team also reiterated what was announced earlier at a global event, that the 2027 release plan is locked. However, those who speculated that the film would release during summer 2027 are disappointed. Varanasi is releasing in 2027, but there is still no clarity on the exact release window.

Mahesh Babu will be seen in a powerful role named Rudra. The film is reportedly being made on a staggering budget of around Rs 1300 crore and is planned for an IMAX release. The presence of names like Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran has further raised expectations. As per current plans, the makers are targeting a Sri Rama Navami release on April 9, 2027, just one month after Spirit.

Rajamouli is known for his meticulous approach and refusal to compromise on quality, which explains the long production schedule. Even though the film is still in the shooting phase, the consistent communication from the team has helped maintain excitement and reduce fan anxiety.
