While Pelli Choopulu might be the film that showcased Vijay Deverakonda to the world, it is Arjun Reddy that brought him to the big stage and gave him an identity. But after a cult drama like Arjun Reddy, Vijay mostly took the commercial high ground and is continuing to do commercial films more often than not.
Vijay’s previous film, Kushi, and his upcoming film Family Star fall under the conventional commercial film category. These films are in tune with his commercial aspirations as Vijay is currently on he mission of stabilizing his market.

But there is an increasing commotion that it is time for Vijay Deverakonda to lock a film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga sooner than later. The commotion is to bring back the Arjun Reddy combo.
Firstly, there are enough commercial heroes doing commercial films. This puts the onus on buzzing and tier 2 leading heroes like Vijay to pick up fresh and out-there subjects with X-factor directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Notably, after Arjun Reddy, Vijay hadn’t done an aggressive film of that degree as he has been doing commercial subjects back to back.

Perhaps it is time for Vijay to take a detour and try out a film with Vanga, or someone of that mindset and pedigree to freshen things up with regard to his filmography.
Sandeep might be an elite league filmmaker who has access to top stops these days but he will be wary of the fact that Vijay Deverakonda is his first hero and if given the chance, he would take up the opportunity of working with him. This might look far-fetched at the time being, but if some day, Vijay and Vanga come together again, then it would provide the kind of zest and impetus tha the former needs to liven up his commercially-packed career.
