Kangana Ranaut and Vijay Deverakonda have previously sought protection of their personality rights, and the Delhi High Court has now finally issued notice on the petitions for the same.
Justice Vikas Mahajan issued the notice, aiming to get a response from all those who have been accused of creating and publishing anything that is considered to be a violation of Kangana and Vijay’s personality rights.
While Vijay addressed impersonation content like endorsements and fake websites, Kangana’s legal team referred to the false news going viral about the actress, followed by the obscene content generated through AI that is directly linked to her.
Vijay said in his suit that there are multiple applications that have exploited his personality without permission and that the same thing has been done for the sale of certain productions. Advocate Swathi Sukumar also displayed a few posts at the court that were considered to be a violation of Vijay’s personality rights.
On Kangana’s matter, the court responded by saying that certain content was satirical and should not have been so problematic. Furthermore, advocate Saket Sikri revealed that a few defendants in the actress’s lawsuit have already removed the material that was considered inappropriate. As of now, the next hearing on both cases is scheduled for February 2027.
Reacting to the ongoing matter, netizens wrote on social media that the court did the right thing since it is wrong to use anything that is very personal to someone. On the other hand, a few even criticized the lawsuits, saying that not all content related to them can be considered an insult, since sometimes people make it for fun.
A particular section had a different opinion, as they stated that the situation would not have been the same if the case had happened with a common man. Addressing how the court issued notices, social media users asked the authorities to show the same priority for people who are not celebrities.
Meanwhile, no other well-known face has approached the court for a similar case so far. However, it remains to be seen if Vijay and Kangana’s case will bring out more matters involving other personalities in the upcoming days.
