Since the launch of his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay had not given any interviews to local or national media. However, Vijay has recently given his first-ever interview to a popular national media outlet and his statements are now going viral on social media.
In the interview, Vijay stated that he looks up to Shah Rukh Khan for the power of his words and draws inspiration from MGR, Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi, the leaders who proved that vision and courage can shape generations.
Furthermore, in the interview when asked, Are you a kingmaker? Vijay replied that he fights for the future and he fights to win. These statements are being seen as the major highlights of the interview.
In response to these viral statements of Vijay, some social media users have criticized the actor by arguing that these statements make it evident that Vijay lacks a strong political view or a firm political stand.
They note that since starting his party, Vijay has campaigned against corruption and strongly opposed the DMK government, yet he is now mentioning Karunanidhi as an inspiration. At the same time, they argue that he failed to mention Annadurai the leader who is the major person for the rise of both Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi, which they claim shows a lack of his political depth.
Additionally, since this was Vijay’s first national interview, many felt he should have made more impactful statements. Instead, they feel he repeated the mistake of speaking in film-style punch dialogues, resulting in an impactless attempt.
