The latest Mood of The Nation survey conducted by India Today in association with C-Voter has projected a sweeping victory for the ruling INDIA alliance in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to the survey, the Stalin-led alliance is expected to win 38 out of 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The DMK and Congress combine is predicted to leave little room for the opposition NDA.
In terms of vote share, the INDIA alliance is projected to secure 45 percent, slightly down from 47 percent last year. Despite this marginal dip, the survey indicates that the alliance will continue to dominate the electoral landscape.
The NDA is expected to be reduced to just one seat. Its vote share is predicted to fall sharply from 41 percent to 33 percent, with the survey attributing this decline largely to the Vijay factor.
The rise of Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Khazagham has had a visible impact. The vote share of “others” has increased significantly from 12 percent in 2024 to 22 percent.
Out of this 22 percent, nearly 15 percent is expected to go to Vijay’s party, according to the survey. This highlights growing interest in his political entry.
However, the survey also notes that Vijay’s party is likely to split opposition votes rather than weaken the ruling alliance. The INDIA bloc’s vote bank is expected to remain largely unaffected.
The Mood of The Nation survey concludes that the ruling party is poised to sweep the Assembly polls. It also suggests that Vijay could face losses if he chooses to contest the elections independently.
