If one were to list the hits of the following actors, Suriya, Karthi and Vijay, chances are high that the last one will have no outright one whereas the other two will have a few. If that were to correlate in market terms, then the former brother’s duo should have it bigger and better in Telugu states than the latter. However, the current situation is precisely the opposite.
The pre-release and theatrical business of Suriya and Karthi are lower than Vijay. Suriya is the most recognisable younger star from Tamil in Telugu cinema. His brother had made a direct movie and also dubbed in Telugu. Vijay, on the other hand, has a few promotional events at the start of his dubbing career. But, since then, he has shied away from doing so. And yet his last few films are collecting proportionately bigger numbers.
The business and release of Karthi’s Khaidi and Vijay’s Whistle put things in perspective for those who are unaware. Khaidi is getting a relatively low-key outing compared to Whistle. The trade expects the latter to open more prominent on the opening day as well.
Vijay is a massive star in Tamil cinemas and on a whole different level compared to Karthi and Suriya. However, in Telugu, he is a struggling star compared to the brothers. But, over the years the study big screen extravaganza mass entertainers have titled things in his flavour. He still doesn’t provide anything unique, which means; there is always a scope for an unexpected downfall. Right now, he is on a rise and its reflecting in numbers across the board.
