Vijay’s problem to continue for Suriya and Rajinikanth

The problem that Tamil star Vijay faced with his new release Theri is expected to continue for other big summer releases of the year 24 and Kabali.

To those who are unaware the film Theri was left unscreened on the opening day and continues to be so even now by a chain of theater owners in the most lucrative areas for Tamil cinema, Chengalpet. The reason cited by exhibitors in this area was way too high price demanded by producer of Theri.

Now as a sign of support to Vijay and his film, the Tamilnadu Producer’s Council has taken a decision to not screen the other two biggies of the summer featuring Suriya and Rajinikanth. Will the issue last for such a long time is another matter though.
