2022 isn’t over yet, and what a year it has turned out to be for the Rajamouli family. SS Rajamouli delivered one of the world’s most appreciated and loved Indian films with RRR, and now his father, Vijayendra Prasad has been nominated for the Rajyasabha seat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Vijayendra Prasad on social media and wrote, “Shri V. Vijayendra Prasad Garu is associated with the creative world for decades. His works showcase India’s glorious culture and have made a mark globally. Congratulations to him for being nominated to the Rajya Sabha.”
On Wednesday, the central government announced the nominations of four members to the upper house of the parliament, and all of them belong to South India.
Apart from V Vijayendra prasad, former champion P.T. Usha, music maestro Ilayaraaja, and eminent philanthropist Veerendra Heggade were nominated to Rajya Sabha.
Looking at the nominees’ list, it looks like BJP is leaving no stone unturned to strengthen its base in South India.
