On the one hand, PSV Garuda Vega is one of the fastest break-even proposition in the US, and in the Telugu states, it had one of the biggest jumps on Sunday compared to its first two days. Yet, the film is likely to make fewer profits and also probably end up losing commercial locally.

The answer to the question lies right in front of us, and that is none other than the lead hero of the movie Rajasekhar. One does appreciate the senior actor for taking a genre and sticking to it without deviating for commercial purposes, but his long association with subpar products and continued failure is coming in the way of Garuda Vega. What else could explain the low numbers?
Recently, some small films too had lower openings, but once the reviews and word of mouth kicked in, they jumped big time, and the audience also was widely receptive. Those movies reaped enormous benefits. But that looks like a highly unlikely scenario for Garuda Vega, and the lead hero’s history is the reason for it.
With multiple releases slated every week, the survival of any film is difficult without audience patronage in large numbers. We have to wait and see if Garuda Vega sustains long enough for everyone to be in profits.
