The buzz surrounding Sankranthi releases has already kicked off. Some have already begun promotions.
Recently, Ram Charan’s Game Changer event took place in Lucknow. Venkatesh’s film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has also started making noise with updates on social media.
However, one thing that got everyone’s attention is that there have been no big updates regarding Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film, directed by Bobby. The film is expected to be released during the Pongal season on January 12.
While it may seem like the Sankranthi line-up is petty much settled, there might be still some surprises ahead.
Game Changer is sure to release on January 10 but the shoot for Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is still going on.
Meanwhile, Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly is also awaiting a confirmed release date from Mythri Movie Makers. The delay seems to be linked to Ajith’s commitment to another project, Vida Muyarchi.
Balakrishna’s film is a different case altogether. After several postponements in its release date, from Dussehra to December, the film is slated for a Sankranthi release.
Sankranthi season is a favorite for Balakrishna, as films released during this time have done well. Given this sentiment, the movie’s promotion should have been started by now, but there hasn’t been much noise yet.
According to the reports, the film’s shoot and visual effects are still in progress. Also, the team is in confusion about which title to choose. They have two options—Daku Maharaj and Sarkar Sitaram and the ball is in Balakrishna’s court.
However, today Thaman has given an update that the teaser works are completed and it will be a massive rampage. He claimed that director Bobby had cooked the film brilliantly.
