Netflix has been taking forever to crack the Indian OTT market and after seeing their latest work, no wonder they are finding it hard.
Netflix’s latest outing Lust Stories 2, the second part of the super hit first part, has opened to poor reviews. It is being tipped to be another OTT series from Netflix that banks only on sex scenes and adult dialogues but not on story and narration.
There’s one of these scenes where a grandmother asks her granddaughter to have sex with anyone she likes and that doesn’t mean she has to marry someone after having sex. This is being ridiculed by the conventional Indian folk on social media.
It got to a point where netizens are tagging Union Information and Broadcast minister on Twitter and asking him to restrict shows like these.
Previously, there was a similar reception for Rana Naidu as well. This Telugu show was lambasted by the Telugu audience for its adult content and dialogues featuring family hero, Venkatesh.
While these adult scenes might be a norm for western folk, these are not welcomed by the larger section of the Indian folk. On top of that, this will only lead to criticism from a large section. Even after all this while, Netflix India bosses don’t appear to be grasping it.
