A viral video of Mahesh at the event ignited a storm of mockery and backlash from netizens, who condemned him for endorsing a product linked to gutkha and tobacco.

A few commented that on one side Mahesh does noble deeds by funding the heart surgeries of needy people and on the other hand, he goes and endorses a gutkha brand.

Critics pointed out that as an influential figure, Mahesh should refrain from promoting such brands, as millions look up to him as a role model.

Adding fuel to the fire, Bollywood fans seized the opportunity to taunt Mahesh, recalling his past statement about Bollywood’s inability to afford him. They are mocking him that Bollywood can’t afford him but a gutkha brand can.

Nevertheless, Mahesh’s supporters came to his defense, arguing that he was merely promoting a harmless mouth freshener variant.

What’s shocking is that the paparazzi videos were taken down within a few hours. Since it was drawing a lot of flak for Mahesh Babu, it is assumed that his PR might have got the video removed from social media.
