Be it the recent Bollywood release Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bobby Jasoos’ or the upcoming film of Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer ‘Dawat E Ishq’, the target has been Hyderabad. Previous year Bollywood suddenly fell in love with Chennai and two of the Bollywood superhit movies ‘Chennai Express’ (CE) and ‘2 States’ (2S) had heroine roles hailing from the South Indian city Chennai. The characters essayed by Deepika Padukone in CE and Alia Bhatt in 2S delivered Tamil accented Hindi. Indeed this proved like Bollywood gesture to reduce the bridge between South and North cultures.
Now it’s the turn of Hyderabad for the B’Town people. The female detective character essayed by Vidya Balan for her ‘Bobby Jasoos’ hails from Hyderabad Muslim family speaking fluent Hyderabadi Urdu. The ethnic locales of old city have been captured very beautifully giving the Bollwood a peek into the diversity of culture prevailing here. Next Parineeti Chopra’s upcoming release ‘Dawat E Ishq’ is filmed majorly in Hyderabad. Even Parineeti’s character hails from Hyderabad and the whole flavour of the film is connected with Hyderabadi cuisine and especially unique Hyderabadi Biryani aroma. Seems Bollywood is slowly erasing the regional barriers. Good going!
