Yash, the KGF star, created a buzz with Toxic, an action thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas. But months after the teaser, the film isn’t generating the kind of hype one would expect from a pan-India star.
Not even in the North where KGF Chapter 2 was a huge success, the buzz around Toxic is lukewarm.

And now with the news that Yash will start shooting for Ramayan in March 2025—where he plays Ravana alongside Ranbir Kapoor (Ram), Sai Pallavi (Sita), and Sunny Deol (Hanuman)—the big question arises: Has Yash moved on from Toxic?
One of the biggest question marks around Toxic is the production status. While reports say major schedules in Goa and Bengaluru are done, there’s no official word on whether the film is completed.

If the movie is still in progress, why is Yash moving to Ramayan now? Is he taking a break from Toxic to shoot for Ramayan or is something bigger happening behind the scenes?
Some fans are even wondering—Has Yash lost interest in Toxic?Toxic has had a low key promotional campaign.

Ramayan is already making news. Yash is not just playing Ravana; he’s co-producing the film and is involved in the creative direction of the film.
So this raises another question: Is Ramayan more important for Yash than Toxic? Given the grand scale and mythological nature of Ramayan, it’s natural Yash would be invested. But does this mean Toxic is taking a backseat? Or is Yash just juggling two big films at once?
One of the reasons for the fading hype around Toxic is the lack of marketing. Unlike KGF which had a well planned promotional campaign, Toxic’s teaser was released on Yash’s birthday and there’s been no follow up.
Is this a planned move where the makers will start promoting the film closer to release or is it a sign of uncertainty around the film’s performance? Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: If Toxic doesn’t get a bigger push soon, it will be eclipsed by Ramayan.
Yash may seem to be changing gears but there’s no concrete proof he has dropped Toxic. He might complete his portion in Ramayan and then come back to promote Toxic aggressively.
But the delay and the timing of Ramayan has raised doubts. Will Toxic regain the lost steam or will Ramayan steal the show? Only time will tell. But one thing for sure—Yash has some tough choices to make and we are watching.
