Toxic, Dhurandhar, Marco: Is Audience Finally Fed Up?

Yash in Toxic movie

Yash’s much-awaited Toxic was finally released into the theatres this week. The audiences had a lot of expectations and they booked tickets accordingly, even if they were expensive! However, the first reactions from the moviegoers are out and they do not seem that good.

A huge star cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and more was expected to create a lot of magic with the film directed by Geetu Mohandas. The same was expected from Yash who gave us two back-to-back hits like KGF 1 and 2.

What ended up was more disappointment and less excitement. Most viewers are of the opinion that Toxic is nothing but a combination of gore, violence, and nudity. A man comes, fights a dozen men, and sleeps with multiple women, end of story. Many others said that there is nothing else to see in the movie other than Yash’s acting and the background music.

In fact, one of the X users even called Toxic a complete nightmare and called it three hours of torture. Since it was released in multiple languages, expectations were high across India. However, the reviews across the country are mostly bad in Telugu, Hindi, and all the other languages.

The only thing that seems to be saving the movie a little is Yash’s stellar acting. Otherwise, according to many, it was a major letdown with an unsettling screenplay, slow-moving plot, and lack of emotional connect. One netizen even went on to say that the movie feels boring, the story doesn’t hit, and the overall execution is underwhelming.

This leaves us with a clear understanding that the public is fed up with watching only sex, gore, violence, and male toxicity in films. We already saw the same things in Dhurandhar, Marco, and several other films. Yes, we loved Yash in KGF, but why was his character almost the same in Toxic? A little change would have made a huge difference.

In short, something different was expected from Toxic, which currently seems like it didn’t deliver properly to the audience.
