Vishnu Manchu’s most ambitious project Kannappa is all set for a grand release in all south Indian languages and Hindi on June 27th. The makers organized the film’s pre-release event massively in Hyderabad.
Mohan Babu affirmed that Kannappa began with the blessings of Lord Shiva. “I earnestly hope that my son, Vishnu, continues to receive the audience’s love and the blessings of Lord Shiva. Every role in this film is a heroic one. I’m deeply grateful to each actor who has contributed their talent to this project. Having watched the ‘Mahabharata’ series countless times, I can confidently say that director Mukesh Kumar Singh has masterfully crafted Kannappa. He has truly been the charioteer guiding this cinematic journey.
This is the story of Thinnadu from the Boya community, a man who once worshipped no deity but revered his parents. Kannappa is the story of his transformation and devotion.”
Vishnu Manchu remarked that every step of making Kannppa was blessed by Lord Shiva. “I still remember meeting Stephen Devassy back in 2017. I told him then, ‘When I make Kannappa, I want you to do the music.’ Today, he’s given us an extraordinary soundtrack. ‘Shiva Shiva Shankara’ was particularly challenging, yet it turned out to be a blessing.
Paruchuri Gopala Krishna poured his heart into the story, and Shiva Balaji’s support has been invaluable. Words fall short when it comes to describing Mohanlal’s greatness. His contribution is immeasurable. I’m also deeply thankful to Akshay Kumar for being part of the movie, and to Sarath Kumar. Thanks to his support, the film is receiving a wide Tamil release. Editor Antony is the invisible hero of this film. Mukesh Kumar is one of the finest directors, I’ve worked with so far.
I still remember Shiva Rajkumar asking me, ‘Why are you making this film?’ I replied, ‘Perhaps Lord Shiva himself wants me to tell Kannappa’s story to this generation.
For me, Prabhas is my Krishna, and I will always be his Karna. He had no obligation to be part of this project, but out of respect for my father, he came forward. Behind the superstar is a man of great humility and kindness. While fame changes many, Prabhas has remained grounded, and for that, I will always stand by him.
To me, my father Mohan Babu is no less than a god. I’m also grateful to Prabhu Deva, who choreographed three songs with incredible energy and creativity. With Shiva’s grace and the love of the audience, I truly believe Kannappa will be a grand success.”
The movie is already carrying strong buzz, thanks to the exceptional response for the promotional material.
