Andhra Pradesh government is focused on giving a face-lift to the R.K. beach in a bid to make it a must-visit on the itinerary of visitors and tourists coming to the city from different parts of the country and the world. The beach currently register more than a Lakh people on holidays and weekends.

The government had sanctioned 5.33 Crore for the stretch from R.K. Beach to The Park Hotel junction. Landscaping, provision of amenities at the beach-side parks, tiled pavements and granite benches are being provided with these funds.
70% of the beautification works are already complete and the rest are expected to complete in a month’s time. On the other side, the government is waiting for a report from the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) regarding the erosion and waves hitting the walls on R.K. Beach – Naval Coast Battery stretch. On the other side, 3.30 crore was sanctioned for construction of tourist amenities at Rushikonda Beach. The proposed works include construction of pathways, toilets and changing rooms and a security tower and souvenir shops to sell the fancy products made with shells and other items by fishermen.
