In an embarrassing incident for both the party and the actor, a huge amount of cash was recovered from actor Sarath Kumar’s car. Sarath Kumar who is the Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader is the lone candidate from his party and is contesting the election of AIADMK’s two-leaves symbol for upcoming elections in Tamilnadu.

Sarath Kumar is contesting the 16 May Tamil Nadu assembly polls. However, the Election Commission on Saturday recovered Rs nine lakh from the actor’s car in violation of election rules and the actor was in the vehicle when the cash was recovered. The Election Commission has confirmed the seize of this amount of money but the actor remains incommunicado. Moreover, in this election season, this has the first instance of of cash being seized from a candidate’s vehicle.
This cash seize was made by an Election Flying Squad and the case for the same has been registered at police station.
