A Committee To Assess Amaravati Condition

Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravati, was completely ignored by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over the past five years due to his unclear three-capital idea.

After the TDP came into power this time, it was announced that Amaravati would be the capital, and efforts to develop it began.

Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Ponguri Narayana, stated that Amaravati will be built within the next two and a half years.

He acknowledged the great sacrifice made by farmers who lent their lands for building the capital city and affirmed that their efforts would not be in vain.

He noted that farmers contributed 34,000 acres of land in just 58 days for the capital.

He mentioned that a committee would be formed to examine the current situation of Amaravati, which would take two to three months to deliver its report.

Narayana recalled that during its previous tenure, the TDP spent Rs. 9000 crores on building highways in Amaravati.

He noted that 70-80% of the construction work on quarters for IAS officers, MLAs, and MPs was completed during the TDP’s tenure but stalled during YCP’s rule.




He said that the construction of these buildings would be finished in the next six to eight months. He also mentioned that a perfect plan for Amaravati’s development would be ready in 10 days.
