Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Temporary Secretariat in Velagapudi a short while ago. This is a milestone in Amaravathi Construction as this is the first building coming up in the upcoming capital. The foundation stone was laid at the stroke of 8.23AM which is considered as auspicious.

The Temporary Secretariat is coming up in Velagapudi, one of the capital notified villages. The construction will come in 26 acres and will create 6 Lakh Square feet of office space. Velagapudi is close to the core capital area comprising the villages of Uddandarayunipalem, Vengayapalem and Tallayapalem. Velagapudi is about 15 km from Vijayawada.
L&T will construct four buildings and the other company, Shapur Palanji will construct the remaining two. Both the companies have agreed to complete the construction by June 15th and then shifting of employees from Hyderabad to Amaravathi will begin. The state government is keen to have the administration totally from Amaravathi by the end of this year.
