History Today: Amaravati Bill in Parliament!

Amaravati capital bill Parliament

Andhra Pradesh is bracing up to create a new piece of history by registering Amaravati as the solitary and legally protected capital of the state. This resolution is going to come in front of the parliament at 12 noon today and there’s a lot riding on it.

This resolution is aimed at enhancing the yard Andhra Pradesh organisation act from 2014 and officially include Amaravati as the legal capital of the state. This is a crucial process in sticking Amravati as the permanent capital, and preventing any mishaps like 2019-24 Jagan regime harassment of the region and its people in the future.

This resolution is going to come to discussion today, and considering the numbers strength of the NDA alliance in the parliament House, it is likely to be passed without much of a delay or opposition.

This is similar to the earlier jurisdiction made on Hyderabad being the permanent capital of Telangana, and this process is going to be initiated for Andhra Pradesh with Amaravati as the capital.

Home Minister, Amit Shah pointed out that this resolution would effectively be considered as legally binding document from June 2, 2024 as the process originated after Hyderabad’s 10 year tenure as the joint capital came to an end then.
