Andhra Pradesh people are at such an inappropriate juncture that they’re being subjected to constant confusion with regard to something as important as the capital of the state.
While the incumbent NDA government is consolidated about Amaravati as the capital of the state, Jagan’s YSR Congress recently announced the MAVIGUN plan. This is a new scheme that was put up by Jagan after the failed three capitals proposal between 2019 to 2024.
The narrative that is being carried by Jagan is that this new capital proposal from him will cover Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur rather than centralising the entire development in Amaravati.
This invited a clarification from chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, as he said Amaravati is also an inclusive capital that would blend Vijayawada and Guntur. This in turn created another knee jerk reaction from YSRCP, saying their YSRCP agenda with MAVIGUN is also the same.
This is bringing us to the public question on what is the need for Jagan to float another completely different area while his intention is also similar to the top Chandrababu regarding Amaravati. If MAVIGUN has the same idea as that of Amaravati, what’s the point in going to a new proposal just for the sake of it, question neutrals.
More importantly, Chandrababu Naidu had been hands on with his approach towards Amaravati and the results are slowly, but surely picking. The development that is being done in the capital region, is there for everyone to see.
This is the exact opposite with Jagan, who played with fire in the form of three capitals and had very little deliverables to show for it. At the end of the day, the public is always going to trust actions more than words, and this is where Chandrababu can clearly score of Jagan in the discussion on Amaravati versus MAVIGUN.
