All that hype about radical Telangana Textbooks is busted. The textbooks content of Class I to X for the new academic year are finalized. The books did not sign praises about Nizam’s rule but have reference to both the good and bad about it including the Razakars.
Interestingly, there is also a mention of Andhra Poets like Nannayya, Thikkana, Pothana etc. However there are lessons about forgotten or ignored Telangana poets, leaders etc. The Textbooks also have the mention of Telangana agitation, KCR’s Fast and Sakala Janula Samme all in relevant portions which are informative but not effecting students in any way.
The new textbooks stressed on using Telangana slang, proverbs etc. The state government had deployed national and state level education experts on these books preparation. The work was completed one month ago and they have also incorporated the changes suggested by KCR. These Textbooks have got the Chief Minister’s ratification on Thursday and are ready for print.
