The Andhra Pradesh monsoon Assembly sessions are scheduled to begin on September 18. Governor Abdul Nazeer has issued a notification confirming the dates. The Legislative Council will also hold its sessions starting the same day.

A major question among Andhra Pradesh citizens is whether Jagan will attend the Assembly. Jagan insists he should be given the status of opposition leader to participate. However, as per the rules, his party lacks the required 19 members for recognition as the main opposition.

Ruling party leaders have invited Jagan to attend, making it clear that he will not be given the opposition leader post. Since Chandrababu’s government took charge, Jagan has not attended any sessions.

If Jagan continues to stay away, he risks losing his Assembly membership. The final decision lies with the Speaker. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Raju has warned that if Jagan does not attend, by-elections in Pulivendula could become unavoidable.

Despite several appeals from ministers urging Jagan and his MLAs to join the sessions, he remains firm, demanding the primary opposition leader position.

Just two days ago, Chief Minister Chandrababu urged Jagan and his MLAs to attend the sessions and take part in discussions on welfare and development. He mentioned issues like the Super Six, irrigation, and investments. The CM stressed that instead of spreading false narratives, Jagan should come to the Assembly for open discussions.
