As of 12 AM last night, the polling percentage was 78.25%. If we add the 1.2% postal ballots voting, the final count would go up to 79.4%. The late night voting might take the final turnout tally to 81%.

In 2019, the polling turnout was 79.2% and another 0.6% was added through the postal ballots. In total, 79.8 is the final turnout last time. The polling percentage might go up by 1.2% this time.

Compared to 2019, there’s a clear jump in the postal ballots this year and this tally alone could greatly influence the outcome of the election.

The usual conception followed by psephological analysts is that if the polling percentage is higher than the last term, it could be a clear sign of anti incumbency. Will the same be the case with Andhra Pradesh this term? We shall wait till the 4th of June to know the answer.
