The government will cut another Rs 1,000 crore out of the Rs 15,000 given under the ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme. A total of Rs 2,000 will be deducted.

Already Rs 1,000 has been deducted in the name of toilet maintenance. Now the government is all set to deduct another Rs 1,000 for infrastructure maintenance.

Under the scheme, only Rs 13,000 will be deposited in the bank accounts of students’ mothers in June.

The amount deducted from the beneficiaries will be allocated to the school management by the school education department.

School education officials passed the information on to district officials to this extent.

From November 8 to April 30, if the student attendance is 75 percent, only then, they will receive Amma Vodi cash.

The Amma Vodi scheme was not implemented in the 2021-22 financial year.

The money was deposited in the mothers’ bank accounts under the scheme on January 11 last year. This year it was shifted to June in the name of student attendance.
