If the news emerging from political circles is to be believed, elections to Andhra Pradesh Assembly may be delayed by an year. The delay is due to the state bifurcation issue currently on. Sources say that if Andhra Pradesh Reorganization bill – 2013 is placed in Parliament and is passed, election commission may defer elections by an year. In the wake of state division, SC and ST reservations in each state are to be revised. Also there is a demand to increase the number of Assembly seats in each state. The entire reorganization process will take an year’s time.

So, February month is going to be crucial in the history of Andhra Pradesh. All eyes are on President of India’s decision for the extension of time for Assembly to increase the deadline for Telangana Bill discussion. Political Analysts believe that President may grant two weeks more time either at a stretch or in two slots.
