The Andhra Pradesh government employees have issued notice for an indefinite strike beginning from February 6 in connection with the recent Pay Revision Commission (PRC). They have demanded the government to withdraw the recent G.O.s related to the pay revision as the new structure would only reduce the salaries for the working employees and pensioners.
In the absence of Chief Secretary, the strike notice was given to GAD Chief Secretary Shashi Bhushan Kumar. In their statement, they ruled that the strike would continue until the new pay revision is called off. They rue that the recent PRC will actually create more damage than benefit.
The employees rue that their salaries will be reduced rather than adding a benefit to them. The tussle between the government and the employees has been going on which has now reached the stage of indefinite strike.
Apart from carrying out the indefinite strike, the employees will be staging dharnas and rallies. Employees going on strike will be a massive blow for the state in the middle of a pandemic and the state in deep financial crisis.
