Andhra Pradesh government and CRDA have decided to scrape the designs submitted by Maki Associates for the Seed Capital of Amaravati. There is a negative feedback on the designs proposed for Assembly, Secretariat and High Court by Maki Associates as some of the designs looked like cooling towers of Nuclear Plants.

CRDA will now call for fresh tenders inviting architects across the globe to come up with novel designs for the Seed Capital. The Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu wants majority approval for these iconic buildings as they will exist through several generations. The new designs will also be approved only after getting the feedback from the normal public.
Chandrababu Naidu is keen to complete the construction of the core capital by 2018 and wants it to showcase as an achievement for 2019 elections. This is a very tough ask for the state reeling under the pressure of severe financial crunch. An insensitive Center is only adding to its woes.
