Key Development in AP Liquor Scam

SIT probe in AP liquor scam case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the AP liquor scam made a key development on Friday after summoning Devarajulu, the personal assistant of Anil Reddy brother and close confidante of former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Officials believe his testimony could provide crucial details on the role of various accused in the scam.

So far, 12 main accused are in jail, while SIT continues to interrogate political leaders and associates. Recently, former Deputy CM Narayana Swamy was also questioned, and his statement has been recorded.

Despite several rounds of questioning, investigators are still struggling to identify the kingpin behind the ₹3,200 crore liquor scam. The ruling TDP has repeatedly alleged Jagan’s involvement, but SIT has not found concrete evidence linking him directly to the scandal.

The scam, which unfolded during Jagan’s tenure, not only drained public money but also led to loss of lives and health issues due to the distribution of cheap liquor. SIT officials say they are determined to uncover the full extent of political links and bring those responsible to justice.
