It can’t be debated that Andhra Pradesh sees some of the costliest electoral campaigns in all of India. In accordance, the amount of seized cash and other influencing elements will also be on a staggering scale.
The Election Commission has revealed that a shocking Rs 203 crore cash has been seized thus far since the announcement of the Election Code in AP. The cash is seized as a part of the election monitoring conduct enforced by the EC.
The amount will only go further in the next week or so as AP polls are set to be held on the 13th of this month.
The EC has also announced that there are 4.14 crore voters in Andhra Pradesh and 46,389 polling booths are being used in the state for the electoral roll process.
A whopping 16,345 complaints have been received by the EC with regard to the complaints about the illicit distribution of cash, liquor, and other elements. A total of 156 people have been injured through the course of the electoral roll.
